ISHTA TRUST is the public identity of ISHTA Charitable Trust, established in Chennai. The Trust was created for public charitable purposes and has broad objects that include education, technical learning, scholarships, support for people in need, public welfare and other charitable activities.
This website does not seek to define the Trust through a fixed list of programmes. Instead, it introduces how we think — beginning by understanding people, their circumstances, their capabilities and what they may become.

ISHTA TRUST does not seek to prescribe that direction. Our intention is to contribute where appropriate so that individuals have greater access to the knowledge, capability and opportunities that may help them move toward it. The individual remains responsible for their own journey — the Trust seeks to strengthen the conditions around it.

As a charitable trust, ISHTA TRUST may provide charitable assistance where appropriate and within its objects. But our broader intention is not to create permanent dependence — it may mean helping someone gain access to knowledge, creating opportunities to learn, connecting experience with potential, or supporting access to tools, skills, guidance or resources.

ISHTA TRUST is connected to the wider REALSME ecosystem but remains an independent charitable institution. The relationship is philosophical rather than operationally dependent.

ISHTA TRUST is based in Chennai. We have an interest in communities where access to knowledge, capability and opportunity can create long-term value. Our current thinking has included rural and semi-rural communities around Chennai, but this website does not restrict the Trust to a particular programme geography.
